 JKAS Officer Suspended For Violating Rules

The Jammu and Kashmir administration has suspended a land department official for violation of rules in connection with transfer of officials in the Union Territory.



“Pending enquiry into his conduct, Abdul Hafiz Shah, Regional Director, Survey and Land Records, Anantnag, is hereby placed under suspension, with immediate effect in terms of Rule 31 of Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956.” Commissioner-Secretary, General Administration Department, Sanjeev Verma said in an order issued on Monday.


Shah during suspension will remain attached to the office of Divisional Commissioner in Kashmir, he said.

The order did not give any specifics on his acts which led to his suspension.

According to official sources, Shah was suspended on the direction of the Chief Secretary for violating rules in transfer of some officials.

The administration also removed Hilal Ahmed Mir, Project Officer, Wage Employment of Kupwara district, from his post and attached him to the General Administration Department.

“Pending inquiry into his conduct, Hilal Ahmed Mir is hereby attached with GAD with immediate effect,” an order of GAD said. Both officials belong to Jammu and Kashmir Administrative service.

Jammu and Kashmir Administration on Tuesday suspended two senior officers and also attached Project Officer in Kupwara district.

The admin has put on suspension Regional Director, Survey & Land Records,(S&LR) Anantnag, over pending enquiry into his conduct.

According to an order issued by General Administration Department, "Pending enquiry into his conduct, Mr. Abdul Hafiz Shah, JKAS, Regional Director, Survey & Land Records (ex-officio Settlement Officer), Anantnag, is hereby placed under suspension, with immediate effect in terms of Rule 31 of Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956."

"During the period of his suspension, he shall remain attached to the office of Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir", reads the order.

In a similar order, the Government suspended Sub Division Officer Baramulla on his date of arrest.



As per order, pending enquiry against Fayaz Ahmad Dar looking after the charge of Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer (SDAO) Baramulla is hereby suspended from the date of his arrest that is 17-8-2023 in terms of rules under the rules of Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services rules 1956.

In another order, the Government ordered the attachment of JKAS Officer Hilal Ahmad Mir, Project Office, Wage Employment (ACD) Kupwara.

"Pending inquiry into his conduct, Mr Hilal Ahmad Mir JKAS Project Officer, Wage Employment ACD Kupwara is attached to the General Administrative Department with the immediate effect," it said.
